What is UNECE Regulation No. 107?

The regulation states that installation and testing of fire suppression systems will be mandatory in engine compartments of all single-deck, double-deck, rigid or articulated vehicle of category M2 or M3 and specifically vehicles having a capacity exceeding 22 passengers. For Class III vehicles (seated passengers i.e. coaches) it will become compulsory July 2018 for new types of vehicles and July 2019 for all existing types. For Class I and II vehicles (e.g. city buses allowing standing passengers) it will become compulsory September 2020 (new types) and 2021 (all). The regulation also requires risk analysis to be performed before installing a system in an engine compartment.

ATT Reacton Direct Delivery System

The Direct system technology utilises the detection tubing to automatically detect the fire and actuate the system. 

When a fire occurs, the tubing will burst at the point of highest heat, as the contents of the systems are directly in communication with the detection tube, immediate discharge of the extinguishing agent is started at the point of detection.

ATT Reacton Indirect Delivery System (R107 Approved)

The Alliance – Reacton® UNECE R107 Vehicle system utilizes CTX Indirect™ valve technology. ​
This technology employs the Alliance – Reacton® Detection Tube to automatically detect the fire and actuate the system.​

The tubing is installed in and around the fire risk areas within the protected risk. The tubing is pressurised and in communication with the valve which holds it in the closed position.

ATT – Reacton Extinguishing Agent

Quick Knockdown – Dry powder, has the ability to ensure an initial quick knockdown of the fire. Dry Powder performs over 40% better than single agent foam/mist systems as proven by the ‘P’ Mark SPCR 183 tests. ​

Non-Conductor of Electricity – Dry powder can safely be used at incidents where it is known or suspected that ‘live’ electrical equipment is present.​

Good on Running Fuel Fires – Owing to its fire extinguishing action, dry powder, when used in conjunction with foam sprays, can be extremely effective when used on running fuel fires.
